"Dear book, this is another day in my life. A life is like a book. A book is like a box. A box has six sides. Inside and outside, so, how do you get to what's inside? How do you get what's inside, out? Once upon a time, there lived a very pretty girl, who lived in a beautiful box, and everybody loved her."

(Gia)

It's hard to believe how narrow minded and shallow 20-something-old people still can be. Hearing a girl from my class giving rude remarks about how some other girl was out of style with her clothes, really came as a big shock to me. What are we? High school all over again? Or rather, who are YOU?! Fashion police or something?! I'm wondering, what gives someone the right to talk about things that are so irrelevant like what someone else is wearing... For God's sake! Have you seen our timetable? That's a thing which shows at what time we have certain classes, there are different days, too... Oh, you do know it. All right. So, keeping that in mind, how do you think anyone normal would even dare to put too much bother into what exactly to wear to fit your standards knowing, that she'll be spending the entire day, that is from 8am till 6pm, at the Uni, probably trying to learn something rather to care about that her 5 star outfit is not suffering too much??!!

I don't get upset easily. Not at all. But this kind of behaviour just pisses me off! Who gives them the right? I couldn't care less is someone walked into a class wearing a PJ's. Big deal! We're here to LEARN something not to show what's in our closet!! Ok. I get it! We kind of have to make a big deal out of how we look, what to wear and what not to. We all try to look as good as we can but isn't feeling good in your skin the most important thing and what you're wearing comes after? Isn't how you feel inside reflecting on the outside? I guess not, as hardly anyone would give much effort into finding out who we really are. If you're wearing the wrong clothes, that's it! Get lost! I don't wanna talk to you! Someone might see me... You are a good listener? Oh, wow! But unfortunately you're wearing the wrong jeans. Sorry! ... Please! With scarf like that you just cannot work here!! ... What?! Who are YOU?! Get away from me! Stripy shirts are soooo last season! ... Man, look at the way she carries that bag? You so don't want to do THAT!

So, I was thinking about making my own list of things I don't want other people to wear while they are in any kind of contact with me. And I came up with this:
*First: I don't like anyone wearing a red left sock. Right is ok. I can live with that. But if you're wearing a left one, GET LOST!
*Second: I only accept blouses with even number of buttons. If you're wearing one with like 17 buttons you're in big trouble and you might as well just GET LOST!
*Third: Shoelaces! Shoelaces are very important! In fact, I don't know if people are familiar with how very important they really are! They tell so much about who you are and the way you cope with life. If you're for example wearing laces that are not color compatible with your shoes, not only you must be colour-blind but you obviously don't care that much about the world or about what people think of you. Let me tell you, being careless like that, they probably all think you're a big loser! So do I and I don't hang with losers, so GET LOST!
*Fourth: Monthly subscription to any kind of fashion magazine is a must, preferably Vogue. Without that, you're probably wearing red left sock, blouse with odd numbers of buttons, wrong kind of shoelaces, so I'm introducing you to my "GET LOST" phrase.
*Fifth: If you read a lot and you cannot do anything to get out of that annoying habit, here's a thing you should do: When you're in a library, only pick the book that goes well with your outfit, because remember, you'll be the one carrying that book around. You'll definitely regret the day when I see you carrying around a book in a dark red cover, wearing a pinkish T-shirt!! Pink IS NOT just a lighter red, there is sooo much more to it! So much! And you know what happens next, right? GET LOST, you colour-blind freak!

That should be it. Follow these five simple steps and we might even become best friends! Well, not really best. Just, friends. Or maybe good colleagues. Colleagues, definitively! Well, let's be honest, ok? Maybe I'll give you a secret hello sign now and then. What's the sign? What are you?! Mentally retarded or what?! It's a SECRET sign. I would spell it but... But, I... I just won't, ok?! Doh, the stupids I have to put up with...
And to prove that I also can be a really sweet, sweet, caring person, let me give you a piece of advice too: If in doubt, ask me. Or, just look at me. Don't try to copy though, because you'll never in a million years look like me. Disappointed being unable to achieve my standards is the only thing you'll end up with and a bottle of anti depressives of course, but DO use all your strengths trying to accomplish the best you can. If that won't help, than you'll just have to GET LOST, won't you?!

Gosh, even I'm a bit scared after this...

I've just recently seen a really good clip of Robin Williams doing stand up and although he's talking about totally different things, his words will come in handy right know. So, to all of you "highly qualified stylists", this is Barbi Gracner, quoting Robin Williams: "FUCK OFF!"

And I don't usually swear either!

:new:Realizing my plan turned out to be a very clever idea. Couldn't be any different since it's was mine, but never mind. I've found not only an unbelievably talented artist but also an amazing person who I suspect to have an enormous heart as well. She says art is her fantasy world. Her life path was leading her through that land and although it looked impossible to go further at one point, she found another way. Her advice for all who are just starting to flirt with art can also be used as a beautiful reminder to all of us: "...don’t be satisfied with what appears at the surface, look what’s behind all this."

Thank you, Elisabeth!

Elisabeth's gallery is filled with lovely pieces from her fairyland. Multitalented as she is, her art is everything from traditional to photography. Looking closer, you'll be able to see, she really has a deep connection with nature. And that connection is priceless and can easily be forgotten in this hectic, materialistic life. Let this beautiful images be a reminder to all of us!

What does art mean to you?

L: Art is like a huge fantasy world to me full of visual images. It’s a great human power to imagine things and create things by imagination. It’s a medium, which has spiritual and contemplating components for me too to explore the inner beauty of all things and make them visible. I started as a child to draw and copied a lot, bounded to forms and characters. After my school graduation I tried the entrance exam at the academy of arts, but they rejected me and told me that I was too bounded to forms and school. They were right. A few years later I began to release my art. No more copies of objects and persons for there is more to it than meets the eyes. Art means to me creation by my own fantasy and also clearance/liberation.
Where do you find inspiration?

L: The inspiration to find the inner beauty of things lies in nature, in silence, in the divine, if you want. I like Japanese Haiku. They are an interesting and inspiring poem form and help me to concentrate and zero in on the nature of things. I find they correspond with my photography and drawings very well.

What would your advice be to someone who's just starting with it?

L: Be curious, watch narrowly your surrounding, don’t be satisfied with what appears at the surface, look what’s behind all this.
