Elementary Sound Of Colors by O-range Elementary Sound Of Colors by O-range
Q: Is it possible to hear the sound of colors?

A: Rerouting visual neural input to an auditory area would probably not cause you to hear colors.

Very nice reflection on the metronome. This really sings. :D THe colors are great, the music sheet well chosen as a design element. Yes, I believe that sounds help you see colors. It is a condition known as "synesthia" and Franz Liszt and Olivier Messiaen both had the sound version of it. When they heard sound, they actually saw colors! Strange but true.

I'm surprised that such an art didn't got a DD yet

You pass the sound so good
and the dynamics are so well done.

I admire this piece of art !

of course you can hear colors. GOSH. i thought everyone knew that...;)
seriously, tho. colors and sounds are very closely linked in my mind. i don't see how that's abnormal :D
and i have an old taktell metronome - mine's in this metal box thing that opens and then there's the metronome, all a part of the box...very old. still works, most of the time.

Yeah, I hear them too. The connection and the collaboration between colors and sound is very close for me also. I have a bunch of this metronomes as well, but hate to use them so I just rather play rhythm-less ;).
I remember we had one just like you described in music school where I took theory & other classes when I was younger and there was that teacher we all didn`t like very much, so we had always put the metronome on the edge of her desk so when she would start conducting and pounding on the desk the metronome would fall of in all its glory ;). And she was always like: "Oh my, how did that happen...hmm?"
Now, when I`m a bit older and more mature (maybe, haha), she`s my singing teacher and I told her about our little-evil-metronome procedure and she was laughing like crazy and than said with relief that she`s glad the secret is solved and that there were no mighty spells and witchcrafts involved.

Ok, enough of my babbling, thanks so much for your comment and thanks even more for loving the colors and the music!

Take care

haha, we all tortured our early music teachers.....it's a thankless task, i'm tellin ya.
my metronome doesn't get used really at all....but it's kinda cool looking. i used to practice for band with it, but i'm not in band any more, so weeeeh. no metronome!

Haha, it really looks so! So what instrument did you or do you play, what music did your band play and the most important I hope that you`re still playing even if its without metronome ;)

band = marching band, and i played clarinet. i still play clarinet, but it's in random jazz bands around town instead of marching band (thank god).

Cool! I played a clarinet for about a month ;) Than I decided that it would be better (for everyone) if just stick to my guitar. And believe me it really was a goooood decision!

Jazzing around? Sounds like fun and if you ever have some samples I`m more than excited to hear them! Hold on to your music

haha, no samples just yet, but eventually...hopefully....lol.
i think someone recorded the last gig we had, but i don't know where that recording ran off to.
hmmm.
fight the good fight ;) i'm not very good at guitar, so i decided to stick to clarinet. funny how that works, huh.

the composition and the quality is not the best that I have seen, but i really love the picture thoe. it is nearly like you are putting a mathematic formula for music<3

Hey, the composition is like that with a simple reason - this actually is a flyer for one of the exhibition that I`m planing to do very soon so it must have some space for basic things to write on, like when and where is gonna happen etc, etc.
Speaking of a quality I really think it`s rather ok, my plan was to get the notes on the sheet quite easily visible and the swinging thing on the metronome in the position in which you can see it`s actually moving. And also, a bit grainy background works for me very well.

I love your idea of mathematics formula of music although I still think that music should come from the hart it`s also necessary to have some basic knowledge about music theory and the other must-learn stuff.

Thanks so much for your thoughts!

Take care
